Configuring Labelworks for 80 Column Printers
Before proceeding with the following instructions you must create the BCR.DAT file in the Bizwin Folder. Do this by clicking on Tools in MicroBiz, Barcode Printing, Labelworks/Bartender and enter an SKU number. Click OK, and select an amount to be printed.
- Open Labelworks.
- Click on File, Printer Setup.
- Click on the 80-column printer to be used for printing labels.
- Click on Setup and be certain Paper Size is set to Letter 8 ½ X 11 in. Click OK, then OK again to return to Labelworks.
- Place cursor inside label on screen and press Right mouse button.
- At the Label Specifications Screen click on User Defined, under Category:
- Drop down menu appears with various types and size labels available.
- For example, select Avery Ink Jet Labels then in the box below select 8160 as the specific label.
- Click on USE

Adjust the label Width and Height to a size slightly smaller then the label size designated by the 8160 label.
Example……Width=2.55 Height=.999

Adjust all Page Margins to center labels on page and display a gray border around the label image in the Preview Box.
Example……Top Margin=.500, Bottom Margin=.500, Left Margin=.288, Right Margin=.288
- Click on Merge File.
- At the Filename box type in *.DAT.
- Press the Tab key and select ASCII in the Format Box.
- Double click the [ .. ] in the Directories list.
- Select the [ Bizwin ] directory by double clicking it.
- BCR.DAT will show in the box to the left. Single click it.
- BCR.DAT is now listed in the Filename window.
- Click OK.
- A box appears saying "Convert ASCII File to Dbase IV File?". Select No.
- At the next screen Click OK again.
- Your label is now visible on the Labelworks screen, and you are now ready to design the label.
