Backing Up Under Windows 95/98

If the User is running the DOS Version of ANY of the MicroBiz software (i.e.Video, Dry Cleaner, Auto or Business Controller) under Windows 95/98, the User CANNOT use the backup utility that already exists in the DOS programs, as this is DOS utility is not supported under the current Windows operating systems.

To use the WINDOWS 95/98 BACKUP PROCESS, the User should configure their BACKUP/RESTORE Process within Windows 95/98.

Select the "START" button, then "PROGRAMS". Then select "ACCESSORIES", then "SYSTEM TOOLS" and then the "Microsoft Backup".

If "Microsoft Backup" is not visible at this time, the User must go to "START", "SETTINGS", "CONTROL PANEL", then choose ADD/EDIT programs. Install the appropriate components from the Windows CD-ROM and make sure that the backup option is selected.

Windows 95/98 will guide the User through the configuration and testing procedure for the appropriate "BACKUP and/or RESTORE" process.

There are many alternatives to this method, such as using a Zip or Jaz drive, or a tape back-up unit
