Backing Up Under DOS SystemsThis procedure applies only to those User's relying on the DOS or Operating System for their Backup and Restore process. Depending on the system environment, the backup process requires a different file and file content. This procedure does not apply to User's with TAPE BACKUP SYSTEMS. MS DOS VERSION 5.x OR LOWER If the User has DOS Version 5.x or lower, there is no need to take any action other than what is presented in the MicroBiz System Menu ("DAILY", "FORMAT/RESTORE"). MS DOS VERSION 6.x AND HIGHER If the User has DOS Version 6.x or higher, and is operating in a DOS environment, the following must be done. From the MS DOS Prompt, create a BATCH FILE "MBZBACK.BAT". This is done in the BUSINESS\1 Sub-Directory by executing the following DOS instructions: EDIT MBZBACK.BAT <this creates an empty file -- MBZBACK.BAT> Once the BLUE (blank) SCREEN is visible, type the following: CD\DOS <changes to the DOS Directory> MSBACKUP <executes the MS BACKUP program> Then hit the following keys to save the file: "ALT", then "F", then "X" and then the "ENTER" to save the file. After this file has been created, use what is presented in the MicroBiz System Menu ("DAILY", "FORMAT/RESTORE"). MS WINDOWS 3.1 and 3.11 * If the User is running under MS WINDOWS 3.1 or 3.11, the User must use the WINDOWS "MWBACKUP" Process. To do this the User must do the following: From the MS DOS Prompt, create a BATCH FILE "MBZBACK.BAT". This is done in the BUSINESS\1 Sub-Directory by executing the following DOS instructions: EDIT MBZBACK.BAT <this creates an empty file -- MBZBACK.BAT> Once the BLUE (empty) SCREEN is visible, type the following: CD\DOS <changes to the DOS Directory> MWBACKUP <executes the MW BACKUP program> Then hit the following keys to save the file: "ALT", then "F", then "X" and then the "ENTER" to save the file. After this file has been created, use what is presented in the MicroBiz System Menu ("DAILY", "FORMAT/RESTORE"). *NOTE: MSBACKUP MAY ALSO BE USED.
