How To Change The Dimensions Of A Mailing Label In Business
If you are printing mailing labels, and you are using a label that is not 4"x15/16" - 2 across, you can make the appropriate modifications through Query.
Follow the directions below to make the modifications needed:
- From the Reports Pull-Down on the Main Menu, select Query.
- Select DBF file - CUST.DBF
- Select Label Generator under Reports
- Open label file
ALLCUST.LBL -> Labels by Customer
ALLCOMP.LBL -> Labels by Company
BIN.LBL -> Bin Labels
- Select Dimensions...
- Select label size. If your size isn't there, select EDIT.
Label Height - Based on Lines Per Inch
eg: Height of 6 is a 1" label
Label Width - Based on 10 CPI printing
eg: Width of 40 is a 4" label
Left Margin - Number of characters from edge of page.
Lines Between Labels - Based on lines per inch.
eg: Lines of 2 is .33" Label
Spaces Between Labels - Based on 10 CPI printing.
eg: Spacing of 5 is 1/2" between labels
Labels across: How many labels wide is paper.
- When done, select Quit and save your changes.
- Select Quit from the Labels menu.
- Select Exit from the Query menu
