4 Ways To Look Up A Customers Work-In-Progress

The Dry Cleaner Controller is programmed to track down a customers work-in-progress in many ways. Due to todays fast pace, a Dry Cleaner has to be on top of things in order to get the customers in and out, as quickly as possible. As of now, the Controller has four ways to find a customers work-in-progress.

The first way to look up a customers work-in-progress is at startup of the program. This will give you an idea of who might be coming in to pickup their garments and how busy you may be that day. To do so, you must first bring up your system the way you normally do each day. You will be prompted to view today's work orders. At this prompt you will either enter in yes or no. If "yes," the system will give you a list of all the work orders that are to be picked up that particular day. This screen will give you the customers work order number, last name, phone number, pickup date, price and rack location, if applicable.

The second way to find out how to track down a customers work-in-progress is through a rack look up at the command line. This feature is very helpful when you have garments on racks and you don't have any ticket to go with that item. A lot of times this happens due to the shuffling of items on hangers, and the tickets happen to fall off without you knowing it. To use this feature you type "RL" at the command line, then type in the appropriate rack location number. The system will bring up the customer and all relevant information. This feature is perfect when a customer forgets to pick up there clothing over a long period of time. Plus this will able you to put a replacement ticket on that garment.

The third feature which will allow you to locate a customers work-in-progress is by entering in their ticket number. When you perform this task, the system will bring up all items that coincide with that ticket number along with the customers information. Located at the top right hand corner of your workscreen the program displays the rack location. If you are combining work orders, the rack location field will only show the first work order's rack location. Well, when there is more than one work order for one customer, and you wish to combine them you can use the new rack look up feature. Type "L" at the command line. This feature is a toggle switch, if you type "L" again, you will shut this feature off. It will display the rack locations of each item, so you can get them as quickly as possible.

The fourth feature is the work-in-progress look up from the work screen. This is probably the most commonly used feature. This feature is used in two ways. You can either be customer specific or display all works in progress. Either select "F10" at the command line to bring up all or bring up the customer first, then select the "F10" key to bring up work-in-progress from just the one customer. The system will display the customers work order, last name, first name, rack number, pickup date and the total amount of that work order. This feature is very helpful when the customer doesn't have his/her work order ticket.
