Definitive Answers For Cash Drawers

Serial Bundles:

1. Place the following commands in your Autoexec.bat:

MODE COM1:96,N,8,1

These commands assume that:
A) Your serial port is COM1:
B) You've left your DP8340 at the default switch settings. (ALL SWITHCES ON)

2. Re-boot your system to activate these commands.

3. Do a print screen.

The printing will wrap around, but it will print. If this does not work, check your ports, switch settings and the typing in your autoexec. Do not go on. Be sure this works first.

4. Now you are ready for the cash drawer.

To test:
Type [MODE COM1:96,N,8,1]
Type [MODE LPT1:=COM1:]

Make a "bell" file:

Type [COPY CON BELL] and press <ENTER>
Press and [G] then <ENTER> repeat this several times
Press <F6><ENTER>

Test the file:

Type [TYPE BELL] and press <ENTER>

The bell should sound on your machine.

Type [PRINT BELL] and press <ENTER>

The cash drawer should open.

Re-boot system

5. Activate and set up the cash drawer in the Customize section:

Activate cash drawer (Y/N)? type [Y]
Intelligent or non-itelligent cash drawer? type [I]
Parallel port (LPT1/LPT2) type COM1 (or COM2 if that is the port)
Character string to send? type CHR (7)
