Percon PT2000 part II

How to Interface the Percon PT2000 Portable Data Collector

The unit has the same function as the AM3000 data collector, the only difference is the Percon has to be modified to work with MicroBiz.

The first step is to change the Percon Program Generator (PPG):

connect the serial cable (part #00-884-19) 25 pins, to com2 or com1, and the other end to the unit.

Turn the unit on.

1. Place the mbzppg diskette into A or B drive. At the prompt type:
   PDPROG MICROBI4.HEX /2 (Enter) (/2 is for com2)
2. When the upload is complete, the unit will prompt you to enter the date. If the date is correct, just press the enter key (red key).
3. Unplug the keyboard from the computer, and put the Y cable into the keyboard port (part #00-001-00) (one end is a 25 pin Dtype male, and the other end around shape female connector for the keyboard).
4. Connect the short black cable (part #00-884-20) to the 25 pin male and the other side to the Percon 15 pin female.

Now you are ready to scan inventory items and upload your data.

XON/XOFF Off

This enables the Portable to send and receive data to the serial port.

Percon cable #00-884-19 Wedge communication you need Percon cable

# 00-001-00 # 00-884-20 Plus MicroBiz Percon Program Generator.

If the file is downloaded from the MicroBiz BBS (PERCON4.EXE) , it must first be extracted (in a temporary directory) and then copied to a diskette.
