Opticon Scanner ConfigurationWhen using the Opticon Scanner, there are some settings that you will need to check. The first thing you should do when interfacing with the Opticon Scanner is to see if your inventory barcodes are being entered into the system with the leading "0", and the check digit. These two characters appear on the outside of the barcode. It is very important to use these correctly, because if you have your inventory entered one way and the scanner configured another way, each time you scan an item your system will say "item not found." So you must make one of two choices:
You will either have to add the check digit or remove it. Normally, you will remove the check digit because you don't really need it unless it is mandatory. The UPC settings that you will use is the UPC A xmit off. The majority of the time this will correct the problem. If you can't understand how to configure it, you should either call your dealer or MicroBiz Technical Support. To keep this problem form reoccuring, have your dealer or hardware technician check the settings when installing the system. Also, make sure that they mark the configuration barcodes in the Optic on manual. This will help you if the scanner looses its configuration in the future.
