Problems With Data File

If you think it is a data file, because you have been having problems seeing some things from within the system, you can check this by going to DOS, to the program directory, which is C:\BUSINESS, and type the following command: DIR/O:D this will give you your directory in DATE/TIME order. Check the last file that was INDEXED, and notify your dealer/technician or MicroBiz for support.

Passwords & Security Settings

When setting up your system for passwords and security, please follow these simple steps:

Go to the main menu in the MicroBiz program and then move t the right arrow key once to the right. This will put you under the management menu.

While under the management menu, go down to the Add/Edit Passwords selection. Once you are there you will hit then a pop-up window will appear with choices of adding, editing, or showing all passwords. MicroBiz might already have passwords there, but they were for testing purposes and can be deleted.

Now we will add passwords into the system. Don't confuse this with the Employee Add/Edit menu. These are two different databases. While you are entering in the passwords and levels, you must decide who will have limited access and who will have total access.

The way password levels work: an employee with a password level of "0"(zero), will have unlimited access and the employee with the password level incrementing, will have limited access up to "99".

When this is finished, go to the customize section of the program and set the security levels to the "Main menu choices".

When setting up the menu choices, think about the employees, their level of responsibility, and what sections you want each one to access inside the program.

If you want an employee not to have access to a screen, you must set the security level # for that screen to a lower # than the employee's password level. Example, if you want an employee out of the "Closeout (End of Day)" screen and they have a password level of "50", you must set the menu choice for the Closeout screen to a level less than "50", like 49. This will prevent them from accessing that screen.

If you have a problem and you lock yourself out of the system, you will have to call your local MicroBiz dealer or call Micro Biz technical support.
