Version 8.0 New FeaturesYou already know that MicroBiz software is the perfect tool for smart businesses everywhere.
MicroBiz lets you ring sales, print itemized receipts or invoices, receive and track inventory, find out who your best customers are and print sales reports, including reorder reports. Now with the MicroBiz Business Controller Version 12.0 we have added even more features to our popular software to bring you the most advanced POS Software on the market today. New Features
Backorders – This function allows you to sell items that you do not have in stock at the moment. A backorder record will be created for the customer. When the mer-chandise is received, you can pull up a list of every cus-tomer with an outstanding backorder, and fill them. This feature was extremely popular in our DOS version. Price Schemes – A new discounting option allows you to set up dozens of different “price schemes.” Each scheme allows you to give discounts based on either the number of items purchased, or the total dollar value being spent. Discounts can be either a set price, or a percentage off nor-mal price. Additionally, different items can be part of the same discount. For example, you can give a 20% discount off ANYbrand of soda if the customer buys 6 or more bot-tles, no matter what brands they buy. Also, one item may count as multiple items (a 2 liter bottle may count twice as much as a 1 liter bottle, for purposes of item count), and an item may count towards the total, but not be subject to the discount itself. One item can be a part of many price schemes. This feature allows almost any sort of discount that you can imagine. IIP Reports enhancements –A new option allows you to specify a range of dates for your IIP reports. You can choose to sequence your IIP Reports by “invoice number” or by “due date.” SKU consolidation on Work Screen – With this feature, if you scan the same item 3 times, all three scans will be combined as a single line item, with a combined quantity. This is a convenient feature that makes invoices more con-cise and easier to read, especially if the items in question are subject to discount. Flex-decimal – Now the number of decimal places can be changed for Cost and Price. This is particularly useful for retailers who carry products whose cost is measured in tenths or hundredths of a cent. An example would be for hardware retailers dealing with nuts and bolts that have wholesale values of $0.0453 and retail values of $0.0643. In this example, the wholesaler would round up to $0.05 cents and when selling the item at retail, a value of $0.06 cents. New Improved Documentation – An all new User Guide has been created for the MicroBiz Business Controller software. In addition to the printed version, it is also included on the MicroBiz CD-Rom and on the MicroBiz web site as printable PDF files. New Security – There is now a security setting that will prevent users from even viewing vendor information, for those store owners who want to limit their employees’ access to data. Also, deleting products now has its own security setting, separate from adding/editing products. Warning Sounds when scanning bar codes – You can now set your computer to give a louder warning beep if you scan a bar code that is not in your inventory database. You need a working sound card in your computer to use this feature. New “Function” Browse Window – The new browse window allows you to use the keyboard or the mouse when browsing work screen functions. This allows pop-up commands at the work screen. Today’s Sales Report improvement – Today’s Sales Report has been reformatted to support multi-currency and flex decimal. MicroTrak Import enhancement – MicroTrak Import (physical inventory) can now handle multiple instances of alternate SKU numbers for the same item. Rounding options – You now have four separate round-ing options: arithmetic (normal rounding), banker’s rounding, rounding up, and rounding down (truncate). Validate Structures – A new maintenance option, which will make certain that your database files (DBF’s) all have the proper structure. This eliminates potential data errors. Global Customize Settings – Some customize settings will affect every machine using MicroBiz. With the new Global Settings in Customize, all of the machines can be updated at once for certain settings, rather than having to set each machine separately. Multi-currency – You can now accept payment in dozens of different currencies. Exchange rates can be changed as often as you like, right from the payment screen. You can select symbols for each currency type, and even select a default home currency of your choice. Adjustments for Accounts Receivable – This feature allows you to make adjustments to a customer’s account, without affecting sales information. For example, you may want to issue a credit to their account, or add a serv-ice charge, etc. From the post payment screen, there is now an “Adjustments” button that will allow you to do this. Credit Card processing – MicroBiz now supports X-Charge software, as well as ICVerify, for processing cred-it card transactions. X-Charge is often a lower cost solu-tion for retailers. Please contact our sales department for quote information. Assembled/Unassembled Report (Bike Shop Controller only) – this new report will show you the assembled and unassembled items that you have in stock. Tag# Search (Bike Shop Controller only) – For items that were sold assembled, that a tag # was entered for, you may now search by tag #, to determine the purchasing customer. Closeout Enhancements – You can now easily switch from doing a centralized closeout, to doing a closeout sep-arately from each work station, and vice-versa. Matrix items will now show in detail on the Products used report of a closeout. If you change the name of “Debit Card” as a method of payment in the customize settings, that change will now be reflected on the closeout report. Purchase Orders – The Purchase Order window can now be enlarged, to fill the entire screen for easier viewing. Also, you can now enter a vendor’s SKU number for an item while creating a Purchase Order, and have that SKU number permanently stored for that vendor’s item. New Window sizing – The product lookup, the customer lookup, and the customer history windows can now be enlarged, for easier viewing Sales Report by Item – This now shows items that were sold at ‘no charge’, as well as items sold normally. Logo on Work Screen – For customers using our service module, you may now choose any image you wish to dis-play in place of the MicroBiz logo, on the work screen. F9 Invoice Printing screen – this screen can now be re-positioned, to appear on the screen wherever you would like it to appear. Tax Calculation – You now have the option of calculating tax on the total amount of the invoice, rather than calcu-lating it for each line item. The QTYxSKU feature – (which allows you to enter a quantity, then “X”, then scan an item) now allows up to 7 digits for quantity, instead of the previous 4 digits. Thus, you can enter 1234.56xSKU to sell 1,234.56 of an item. Display Computer name – If you are using MicroBiz on a network, we now display the network name of each com-puter on the main menu screen, to make it simple to iden-tify each computer. This will also display at the top of individual closeouts (if you do closeouts per workstation), so you can easily identify which machine each closeout was processed. Hardware Imports – There are new manufacturer prod-uct data imports available, including Makita. |
